FIRST BLOG + Tips to put you to sleep!

Hello Blogging World! Let me welcome myself to this fascinating new phenomena of the web (cause no1 else is here to)!

Since its 7 a.m. (and not in deep sleep yet) my mind perhaps is not functioning as well as I'd like it to! So therefore I don't have a particular topic to talk about.

Uh-Oh my step father is walking into the house as I write.. Yep, there we go, another awkward "good morning". I have had a completely upside down sleeping schedule for the past few weeks and I cant seem to fix it. I have been forcing myself to stay up and make it to and through the afternoon, and pass out at least at 8 p.m., even though 10 o'clock would be ideal!

I have been spending these quiet nights in the cozy living room with my dog (we don't usually call him that at home, mom always corrects it lol).

I try to stay away from coffee as much as I can, but in times like these.. it is necessary.

If you are having trouble falling asleep on time, I suggest you try the two things below. I have just discovered it in the past couple of weeks, and it works great (My only problem is I will wake up after a few hours and then get extremely tired again during the day) :

**GARLIC** does the job very well at creating the sleepiness I need! I have low blood pressure to begin with, and garlic is known to bring the blood pressure down ( I don't know how healthy it is for me lol but at times like these its got to be done!). Make sure you are not around people too much since you WILL have STINKY breath! Also, if you can try to chew the tiny little pieces of garlic so its juices kick in right away. You will get better results this way rather than just swallowing it to get the job done and over with! P.S. DO NOT eat too much, it can cause major stomach pains!

**MEDITATION** is what ultimately gets me every time! I am currently working on a book that has 24 chapters, and at the end of the chapter there is a meditating-like exercise to be mastered. I have a bit of 'trouble' with it because I tend to feel exhausted afterward or literally FALL ASLEEP during the meditation, lol! But on the other hand, that is PERFECT for the irregular sleep I have :) . Dim the lights and put on relaxation music ( sounds of nature, such as ocean waves, the rain, wind, rain forest - You get the drift!). Sit comfortably, try to keep your back straight. If this is too difficult put your back to the wall, pillow or couch. Cross your legs as best as you can but do not have them stretched outward. Now, try your best to catch yourself when negative thoughts pop into your thoughts, and immediately eliminate it! Try not to think too much, rather observe. Observe your breathing, observe the wonderful feeling the music in the background is creating for you.. You can feel yourself drifting off.. You are feeling very sleepy. After a minimum of 15 minutes, or whenever you feel tired, allow yourself to drift off to dream land......... Even while laying down continue to meditate until you drift off.. Make sure your bed is near you, otherwise it might not work!

There are obviously many other techniques out there but these are my 2 favorite!
They are pretty much free and accessible in almost every household :)

Anyway, my secret daily morning show is on in 5 minutes (maybe one day I will be brave enough to share hehehehe :P)

CHEERS!
